Lake Charles Bible College…
Is the answer to earning your degree at home! Your degree program can be earned from the comfort of your home, church office, or location of your choice. LCBC offer seminars occasionally in different locations for accelerating the degree process. We have a unique and innovative Christian college.
Since 1993 we have been recognized by the Louisiana Board of Regents. We have our 501-C3 status. Students from all walks of life and backgrounds have prepared for greater Christian ministry at our school. Our center is Jesus Christ and the Bible is our first and foremost book. We utilize hundreds of other books that help us understand the Bible and ministry at a deeper level. The books you will read throughout your degree program were written by authors who have proven success in ministry or Christian scholastic achievements.
We are a growing school. Students from twenty-four states in the United States including Mexico and the Virgin Islands have obtained degrees through LCBC. We now have students in Japan and Canada. Here at LCBC we realize that many students are not interested in the pursuit of a degree, but are interested in obtaining 21st Century and cutting edge Church Growth Strategies and Personal Development for ministry. A Certificate of Participation Program includes a “Personal Empowerment Track” and “Ministry Skills Track” with conferences and seminars to meet the needs of those people who are perusing personal goals.
LCBC Historical Sketch…
Lake Charles Bible College opened its doors in the fall of 1993 after the relocation of Louisiana Christian University in Sunset, Louisiana. Along with the Honorable Preston Miller, Dr. Don Johnson had long believed that there was a need in Southwest Louisiana area for practical religious teaching and hands-on training for Christian people. Over the years we have found that most people who enroll in Lake Charles Bible College are adults studying for a second vocation in God’s Kingdom.
It was the goal of Dr. Johnson and the entire teaching staff to provide affordable religious training to men and women who are older and perhaps have families and jobs that could not leave. There were people who had a desire to preach and teach, but because of life commitments, students were unable to leave their daily routines to attend a traditional classroom setting. LCBC offers an alternative in Christian education at an affordable price.
Over the past nineteen years, through their distance learning program, LCBC has reached many people living in various states spread across the United States. Lake Charles Bible College has given birth to five (5) other Bible Colleges, which are founded and administered by the graduates of LCBC. On August 8, 2008 Dr. Jimmy R. Stevens was named as the second President of LCBC. As a former instructor and graduate, Dr. Stevens has the vision of reaching into all 50 states with the Distance Learning Program and extending beyond Mexico and the Virgin Islands. LCBC will offer cutting edge conferences and seminar by exposing LCBC students to some of the greatest Christian educators and world-class leaders in America. It is the desire of LCBC to train/educate men and women, who plant new churches with a heart for ministry, evangelism and missions.
LCBC has moved its campus to the New Covenant Faith Baptist Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana with the hope of expanding its buildings and facilities.
